This is a fava bean spread with the addition of garlic, olive oil, and basil. It can be used as a spread or as an addition to main dishes. Basil in the spread can be replaced with mint.

Procedure
- If you are planning to use fresh fava beans, shell them first.
- Boil fresh fava beans for about 10 minutes, and for the frozen ones follow the instructions on the bag.
- Add water, 15 ice cubes, and cooked drained fava beans to a large bowl. Then strain the beans again and shell them.
- Add fava beans, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, basil, salt, pepper, and sweet bell pepper to a small multipurpose processor. Mix until you get a spread of homogeneous consistency.
- Serve the spread in a bowl. You can add another tablespoon of olive oil, pepper, and chili in pieces on top. You can also decorate it with a few basil leaves.
- Toasted bread and crackers go perfectly with it. You can also use the fava bean spread in other ways – in tortillas, as a side dish to vegetable bowls, pasta, etc. Bon appétit!
